The accident occurred near Man Ming Lane on Nathan Road when a Route 6 Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) failed to brake in time and collided with a stationary Route 9 KMB.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the injured, four men and three women, before transporting them to Kwong Wah Hospital for further treatment. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
Witnesses reported that the Route 6 bus was approaching the Man Ming Lane stop when it unexpectedly hit the Route 9 bus ahead. The collision resulted in severe damage to the front windscreen of the Route 6 bus, scattering glass shards across the site.
Images from the scene show the shattered windscreen in a spiderweb pattern, evidencing the impact’s severity. A passenger on the Route 6 bus, recounted that the bus was not moving fast as it was merely slowing down to stop. However, the bus ahead had not moved, leading to the rear-end collision.
