Kathmandu, July 9

The government has removed the per-day limit on the number of domestic flights allowed per day.

While reopening the flights from July 1 following months of suspension due to the Convid-19 crisis, the government had introduced a limit on the number of flights although all destinations were allowed. It was stated that only up to 50 per cent of flights could be conducted.

Now, the government removed the limit as road transportation became difficult due to floods and landslides in various parts of the country. Airlines had been demanding the removal of the ceiling for the past few days.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal says the airlines can operation as many flights as they need, adding the companies have already been informed of this.

CAAN Director-General Rajan Pokhrel says the airlines, however, still need to maintain safety precautions.
