21st May 2022 – (Hong Kong) A broad trough of low pressure will bring showers to the northern part of the South China Sea and southern China in the next couple of days. The weather will become unsettled over the coast of Guangdong midweek next week. Under the influence of a southwesterly airstream, it will be hot with a few showers over the coast of southern China towards the weekend.
Locally, the weather was hot in the afternoon. Temperatures over most parts of the territory rose to around 31 degrees.
At 3.40pm today, the Observatory recorded a temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 67%. The average UV index recorded in King’s Park in the past 1 hour was 6, indicating a high intensity. In addition, the maximum temperature in many districts in Hong Kong also rose to 30 degrees Celsius or above, of which Sheung Shui was the hottest at 33 degrees Celsius, followed by Yuen Long Park at 32 degrees Celsius.
