Police seize drugs worth HK$1.4m and weapons from 2 residential units in Mong Kok, 5 arrested

21st May 2022 – (Hong Kong) Based on information and in-depth investigation, the Kowloon City Police District Special Duty Team of the Police launched an anti-drug operation at about 6.30pm this Thursday (19th) and raided 2 units at No. 168 Lai Chi Kok Road, Mong Kok. Police sezied 1 kilogram of suspected heroin, about 300 grams of suspected cocaine, about 40 grams of suspected marijuana, about 10 grams of suspected “meth”, 3 machetes, 1 telescopic steel rod, 2 steel rods, 1 katana sword and 1 dagger. The total market value of the drugs in the case is about HK$1.4 million.

After investigation, the police arrested a local man surnamed Chu (44 years old), two foreign men aged 53 and 64 and a 33-year-old foreign woman in the unit on suspicion of “drug trafficking”, “drug possession” and “possession of offensive weapons”.

In addition, police officers also found a suspicious man near the unit. After interception and inspection, about 40 grams of suspected heroin were seized on his body. The man (57 years old) was arrested on suspicion of “drug possession”. All arrested men and women are being detained for investigation.
