Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall killed 10 people in Kaski district. One other is missing.
Of the victims, seven members of the same family died after being buried by the landslide in ward 19 of Pokhara Metropolitan City at around 10:15pm on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Kul Bahadur Pariyar, 47; his 43-year-old wife Man Kumari; mother Laxima, 85; daughters Prabha, 20, and 15-year-old Prashna; and son-in-law Asmit Pariyar. Their neighbour Radhika Pariyar also died in attempts to rescue the victims, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Basant Kumar Sharma.
Three other children—aged 18, 11 and 9—were killed in Chainpur of Pokhara-32.
Likewise, 80-year-old Maiti Kumari Gurung has gone missing in the disaster in Tallo Saple of Madi Rural Municipality-11.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences for postmortem.
