11th January 2025 – (Shanghai) Mainland actor Wang Xing, who had gone missing near the Thai-Myanmar border, returned to China on the evening of 10th January. He boarded Shanghai Airlines flight FM840 at Bangkok’s airport and landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 12.55am on 11th January. A significant crowd of media and fans awaited his arrival, but Wang did not make an appearance at the airport.

Witnesses aboard the flight reported that Wang, travelling with two companions, wore a hat and mask during the journey. He was the first to disembark and proceeded directly through customs with the assistance of relevant authorities before leaving the airport.

Wang Xing shared on Weibo, “I am Wang Xing, a citizen of China. At this moment, I have returned to the embrace of my homeland. This embrace makes me feel warm, secure, and free. In a foreign land, it was the strength of my country that gave me courage and hope.”

He went on to express, “To every friend who helped me, and to those online whom I have never met: I want to say that I am just an ordinary person who experiences fear and worry. Yet, just when I was about to give up completely, it was you who gave me hope, allowing me to believe a little longer and to persevere, helping me return to the country I love and to the people who love me. I sincerely thank you all!”

Wang also extended his gratitude to the Chinese government, the embassies in Thailand and Myanmar, and the police forces of both countries, saying, “Thank you for your continuous efforts behind the scenes!” Finally, he expressed special thanks to his girlfriend, who initiated the online rescue efforts, concluding with the heartfelt phrase, “Love can conquer everything.”
