American tourist found unconscious on cruise ship passes away at Ocean Terminal

5th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) At 11.59pm yesterday, a staff member aboard a cruise ship docked at Tsim Sha Tsui’s Ocean Terminal reported a medical emergency involving a 66-year-old American tourist who had collapsed in his cabin. Paramedics arrived and transported him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy, although it has been noted that the individual had a history of heart disease.

The cruise ship in question, Silver Dawn, had docked at the terminal at 8am on Saturday and was scheduled to depart on Sunday at 2pm. Following the incident, police boarded the vessel to conduct an investigation. The Silver Dawn, which launched its maiden voyage in 2021, has a capacity of 596 passengers and a gross tonnage of over 40,000.
