11th January 2025 – (Hong KOng) Images and a video circulating online have raised alarms about a suspicious individual at Queen’s Hill Estate in Fanling. CCTV footage captured a man dressed in black, wearing a black hat, pressing the doorbells of five different apartments within the building, leaving residents concerned about potential burglary. The affected residents have reported the matter to the police.
Local residents have taken to social media to express their worries, calling for a security meeting and suggesting the Housing Authority print and display images of the suspect in communal areas.
On 7th January at around 10pm, the man was seen pressing the doorbell of an opposite unit twice, without wearing a mask and coughing intermittently. The incident was documented in a Facebook group dedicated to local community issues.
The original poster warned fellow residents to be vigilant and confirmed that they had contacted the police for assistance. Many community members commented on the post, suggesting the man appeared to be “casing” the area, with some asserting that his behaviour could constitute loitering.
Subsequent updates indicated that police arrived at the scene following the report and took action to investigate the matter further.
