4th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A young boy, aged around 3 to 4, became trapped while riding an escalator at Tseung Kwan O Park Central. At approximately 6pm, police received reports of the situation.
Firefighters arrived on the scene equipped with tools to free the child, who had sustained injuries to his foot but remained conscious. He was subsequently transported to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that the boy was trapped for more than ten minutes, crying throughout the ordeal. Fire crews used a hydraulic jack to carefully expand the escalator’s comb plate, ultimately rescuing the distressed child.
