19th January 2025 – (Xi’an) China has successfully conducted three ignition tests for liquid oxygen-kerosene engines, as announced by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). This achievement, which took place on Sunday, is notable for being the first instance in which the country has executed three ignition tests on two different types of liquid oxygen-kerosene engines within a single day.

The tests were performed by the Academy of Aerospace Propulsion Technology, a CASC subsidiary, at their facility located in the Baolongyu area of Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in northwest China. The testing involved two 120-tonne liquid oxygen-kerosene rocket engines and one 18-tonne variant.
