11th January 2025 – (Bangkok) On Saturday, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand issued a warning to Chinese nationals visiting the country, advising them to exercise caution regarding “high-paying job recruitment” scams. The embassy cautioned against trusting deceptive offers that promise lucrative employment alongside free tickets, meals, and accommodation to avoid falling victim to fraud.
The embassy urged Chinese citizens who feel their personal safety or legal rights have been compromised to report incidents to the police without delay. They can also enlist the help of friends, family, or acquaintances in Thailand to file a report on their behalf. Additionally, the embassy encouraged individuals to reach out to them or the nearest consulates for assistance.
In line with the China-Thailand mutual visa exemption agreement, the embassy reminded visitors that any work or study activities requiring prior approval must have the appropriate visa processed prior to entry. For those entering under the visa exemption policy, it is essential to refrain from illegal employment or activities that do not comply with the established regulations.
