Construction site accident in Sau Mau Ping leaves female worker with fractured arm

31st October 2024 – (Hong Kong) A 59-year-old female construction worker was injured this morning at a site on On Kin Road in Sau Mau Ping when a bag she was handling unexpectedly struck her arm, resulting in a fracture. The incident occurred at around 9.41am as the worker surnamed Wong, was pouring building materials into a concrete mixer.

After encountering difficulties with the mixer, which could not be turned off and was entangled with a bag, Wong attempted to free the bag. However, it suddenly rebounded, hitting her right arm. The impact caused severe pain, prompting her to scream for help. Her colleagues, witnessing the incident, quickly alerted emergency services.

Paramedics arrived subsequently to assess her condition, providing first aid before transporting her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The incident has been categorised as a workplace accident.
