Drunk American man rescued after falling from rooftop in Yau Ma Tei

31st October 2024 – (Hong Kong) An American man fell approximately six metres from a rooftop at 102, Woosung Street shortly after midnight. The man, who was reportedly drinking at the time, landed on a neighbouring building’s platform after losing his footing.

Prior to his fall, witnesses indicated that he had been involved in a heated argument with a woman on the rooftop. Following the altercation, he consumed more alcohol, leading to concerns about his inebriation and subsequent loss of balance. Upon arrival, firefighters set up a rescue platform to reach the man, who had attempted to descend the exterior of the building via a ladder but became stranded on another platform. He was successfully rescued and taken to hospital for treatment.
