Fatal motorcycle accident on Tuen Mun Road leaves one dead

11th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) At 12.22pm today, police were alerted to a motorcycle accident on Tuen Mun Road heading towards Tsuen Wan, where a 61-year-old male rider was found unconscious. Paramedics arrived and transported him to Yan Chai Hospital, but he was later pronounced dead. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

The involved motorcycle was identified as bearing a provisional driving licence. Reports indicate that the rider was travelling from Kowloon via a side road onto Tuen Mun Road when he lost control on a bend and collided with a stone barrier, resulting in serious injuries. His helmet was dislodged and found several metres away from the scene.

Additionally, motorcycle parts were scattered across the area, and officers are searching for the memory card from the vehicle’s camera.

The Transport Department has announced that due to the accident, part of the access road from Castle Peak Road-Sham Tseng to Tuen Mun Road (towards Kowloon) has been closed. Drivers are advised to use the remaining lanes, although traffic is currently heavy in the area.
