Financial Secretary Paul Chan to attend World Economic Forum in Davos

19th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) Paul Chan, Hong Kong’s Financial Secretary, is set to depart for Davos, Switzerland, in the early hours of 20th January to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, which runs from 20th 24th January. This prestigious gathering will convene nearly 3,000 political leaders, financial officials, and executives from major international organisations and academic institutions, representing over 100 countries and regions.

The 2025 WEF Annual Meeting is themed “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” focusing on critical global and regional challenges. Key discussions will revolve around rebuilding trust both internationally and within societies, exploring new avenues for economic growth, investing in human capital development, safeguarding the planet, and transforming industries in this new era of intelligence.

During the meeting, Mr Chan will engage in several keynote sessions, luncheons, and dinners, where he will have the opportunity to meet with influential political, business, and financial leaders. His agenda includes briefing these stakeholders on the latest developments and advantages of Hong Kong, highlighting new opportunities for collaboration and investment.

Representatives from the Airport Authority Hong Kong, the MTR Corporation Limited, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited will also participate in the Annual Meeting, further underscoring the importance of Hong Kong’s presence on the global stage.
