Foreign restaurant owner in Central injured during kitchen blaze

11th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A fire broke out in a restaurant kitchen on Wellington Street in Central this morning at 10.49am. The incident occurred when a foreign male owner was using an oven, leading to a sudden flash fire. Fortunately, the restaurant’s automatic sprinkler system activated and extinguished the flames.

The owner sustained burns to his hands and neck and was promptly transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. Fire services are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
