27th August 2024 – (Hong Kong) Former TVB actress Jaclyn Chu has purchased a 2,775-square-foot duplex unit at the Ontolo development in Pak Shek Kok, Tai Po, through her company “FAMOUS ELEGANT LIMITED” for over $61 million, or around $22,000 per square foot.
The off-the-plan purchase was made after the government’s property cooling measures were lifted, allowing Chu to save an estimated $6.62 million in stamp duties compared to if she had bought the unit before the rollback.
This is not Chu’s first high-profile real estate deal. In 2021, she and her husband Ga Kwan-pang sold their 1,741-square-foot, four-bedroom apartment in Repulse Bay for $82.8 million, netting a handsome profit of $51.62 million after over 16 years of ownership.
Chu, a former host on Asia Television (ATV), is also known for an incident that occurred in 2004 when she invited former AC Milan footballer Zvonimir Boban to sing “Happy Birthday to Me” on ATV’s anniversary, an event that has become the subject of lively discussion on the internet for over two decades.
