
31st October 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened higher on Thursday, gaining 33 points or 0.16% to reach 20,414. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index increased by 16 points, or 0.22%, to 7,302, while the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 13 points, or 0.3%, to 4,527.
AIA Group reported a remarkable 16% increase in new business value for the third quarter, setting a new record and pushing its stock price up nearly 1%. In the financial sector, HSBC Holdings saw a decline of approximately 0.5%, while Ping An Insurance fell by 0.31%. Conversely, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing edged up by 0.19%.
In the technology sector, shares showed mixed performance. JD.com rose by 0.64%, and Meituan gained 0.38%. Xiaomi remained unchanged, while Tencent and Alibaba experienced losses of 0.15% and 0.52%, respectively.
