18th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong singer Andy Hui, appeared as a guest on a television program hosted by Luisa Maria Leitão. During the show, he revisited the difficult period he faced in 2019 and revealed that it took him three years to confront the emotional hurdles. Hui candidly admitted that during that time, he had buried himself away, rarely responding to phone calls and lacking the courage to envision a future for his career. He described it as the most painful and darkest phase of his life, where everything seemed colourless. He expressed deep gratitude towards his wife for her encouragement, companionship, and forgiveness, acknowledging that without her support, he would have let down those who loved him.
Furthermore, Hui emphasised the importance of the “core of a man,” stating that a man should bravely face all challenges within the family. He acknowledged his past mistakes, referring to himself as a “bad person,” but expressed a desire to make amends and strive for goodness. During his healing journey over the past years, in addition to reading books, he has also rediscovered playing the piano and guitar as a means of personal growth.
