17th January 2025 – (Beijing) Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday indicates that home prices in China’s first-tier cities experienced a modest increase in December compared to the previous month. In particular, prices for new homes rose by 0.2 per cent, while resold homes saw a slightly higher increase of 0.3 per cent across the four major cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
The report also highlighted a broader trend among 70 large and medium-sized cities, where 23 reported month-on-month increases in new home prices, a rise from 17 in November. However, the number of cities with increasing prices for resold homes saw a slight decline, with nine cities registering growth compared to ten the previous month.
