7th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) On 3rd January, Hong Kong Customs made a significant drug seizure at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, confiscating approximately 2.4 kilograms of suspected liquid cocaine, with an estimated street value of around HK$2 million. This operation culminated in the arrest of a suspect on 6th January.

Through meticulous intelligence analysis and thorough investigations, Customs officials inspected a parcel originating from Guangzhou, which was falsely declared as containing acrylic boards. Upon examination, they discovered the concealed cocaine within hollow spaces of three acrylic boards.

Following this, a controlled delivery operation was executed in Hung Hom, resulting in the apprehension of a 27-year-old man linked to the case. During the arrest, he exhibited non-compliance with officers.

The suspect, who claimed to be unemployed, faces charges for attempting to traffic a dangerous drug and obstructing Customs officers. He is scheduled to appear at the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on 8th January.

Customs authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and refrain from engaging in drug trafficking for financial gain. They caution against accepting offers to transport controlled substances into or out of Hong Kong.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a grave offence, with a maximum penalty of HK$5 million and life imprisonment upon conviction.
