7th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A fatal accident occurred on Lin Cheung Road yesterday, when a 50-year-old driver employed by Maxim’s Caterers Limited collided with a broken-down garbage truck, leading to his death. Approximately ten family members and friends gathered at the public mortuary today in Kwai Chung to identify the deceased before holding a memorial at the accident site.
Police assisted in closing off parts of the road to facilitate the family’s tribute. A section of the roadway towards the West Harbour Tunnel near Tonkin Street West was initially closed for about an hour before reopening.
The family gathered in mourning as they paid their respects at the location of the unfortunate incident.
