7th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) The excitement surrounding the Hong Kong Mark Six lottery has reached fever pitch, with total bets soaring to approximately HK$270 million ahead of tonight’s draw. Following a rollover from last week’s New Year draw, where no winning ticket emerged, the jackpot for this evening is projected to hit an astounding HK$128 million for a single HK$10 ticket.
As of 7pm, the betting total had already reached HK$270 million, combined with last Thursday’s figure of HK$240 million, bringing the cumulative stakes to over HK$510 million for the two draws. According to the Hong Kong Jockey Club, 25% of the total betting amount will be allocated for lottery revenue tax, while 15% will go to the lottery fund. Additionally, 6% is earmarked as commission for the Jockey Club, ensuring that at least HK$30 million will be collected from these two draws alone. The remaining 54% will contribute to the prize fund.
Queues formed outside various betting outlets, particularly the Central branch on Stanley Street, renowned as the “luckiest” location in the city, having sold 47 first-prize tickets—the highest of any branch.
