15th January 2025 – (Menlo Park) Meta Platforms’ Instagram faced significant downtime for thousands of users in the United States on Wednesday morning, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com. As of 9.16am ET, over 6,549 incidents had been reported, highlighting widespread issues with the platform.
Downdetector compiles outage data by aggregating status reports from various sources, although the actual number of affected users may differ from the reported figures. Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters regarding the outage.
