7th January 2025 – (Bangkok) Chinese actor Wang Xing went missing on 3rd January while travelling to Thailand for a film shoot, raising concerns he may have been trafficked to a scam operation in Myanmar’s Myawaddy area. His girlfriend appealed for help online, prompting widespread attention.
Reports from the Thai media on 6th January indicate that Wang had entered Thailand via flight but subsequently lost contact. Investigations revealed no formal exit records at Thai immigration checkpoints, leading to speculation that he may have left through unofficial routes. However, on the evening of 6th January, Thai television station Ch7HD confirmed that Wang Xing had been located safe and sound in Myanmar and is expected to return to Thailand on 7th January.
