4th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) On 2nd January, a murder unfolded at Po Tin Estate in Tuen Mun, where a heated dispute over romantic interests escalated tragically. A 33-year-old man, identified as Wong, was allegedly stabbed in the back by the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend during an altercation near Block 7. Despite immediate medical attention, Wong succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Authorities swiftly apprehended the victim’s 44-year-old girlfriend, Ng, on suspicion of misleading the police. Subsequently, on 3rd January, they arrested the main suspect, a 56-year-old man, believed to have fled to Kowloon.
Police conducted a reenactment of the incident today, using a mannequin to illustrate the events leading to Wong’s fatal stabbing. The suspect, restrained and under police escort, was seen discarding a replica knife near a pedestrian bridge, demonstrating the sequence of events.
Initial investigations suggest that the two men had a longstanding feud, stemming from romantic rivalry, but the case is not linked to organized crime. The police are continuing their inquiries, including searching for the murder weapon and determining whether the suspect was under the influence of drugs at the time of the offence.
As the investigation progresses, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in shedding light on this tragic incident.
