Over 1,000 structures have been destroyed as six separate fires rage across the city, which is home to numerous celebrity residences.

The Pacific Palisades neighbourhood has faced some of the most severe damage, with flames rapidly expanding from a few hundred acres to over 15,000 since Tuesday. This picturesque area, characterised by hillside streets and proximity to the Pacific Ocean, has been left in ruins, reduced to ash.

Actor James Woods, known for his roles in Nixon and Casino, became emotional during a CNN interview as he recounted the loss of his Pacific Palisades home. “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone,” he lamented, wiping away tears as he shared how his wife’s eight-year-old niece offered her piggy bank to help them rebuild.

Billy Crystal, who has resided in Pacific Palisades since 1979, expressed heartbreak over the loss of his family home. He stated, “Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.”

Paris Hilton also announced the destruction of her Malibu home, sharing her distress on Instagram. “Watching the news and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground is something no one should ever have to experience,” she wrote, extending thoughts and prayers to all affected families.

Pratt posted about the incident, while Montag expressed her sorrow over the loss of everything they had worked for.

Mandy Moore, known for her role in This Is Us, shared a video of the devastation, expressing gratitude for her family and pets’ safety while acknowledging the overwhelming loss faced by their community. “My children’s school is gone. Our favourite restaurants, levelled,” she said, highlighting the widespread impact of the disaster.

Ricki Lake described the loss of her “dream home,” joining the chorus of voices mourning the destruction. Other actors, including Sir Anthony Hopkins and John Goodman, have also reportedly lost their residences.

Miles Teller, of Top Gun: Maverick fame, and his wife Keleigh Sperry shared their heartbreak over losing their home, urging people to leave water out for pets left behind during evacuations. Actor Mark Hamill called the current fires the “most horrific” since 1993, recalling his last-minute evacuation from Malibu.
