Police raid unlicensed bar in Hung Hom, person in charge and 11 customers arrested

24th July 2021 – (Hong Kong) The anti-triad operation team of the Kowloon City Police District raided an industrial building unit at 21 Man Lok Street, Hung Hom at about 2am today (24th) and smashed a suspected unlicensed upstairs bar.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man in charge for “selling alcoholic beverages without a licence” and “possession of alcoholic beverages without a licence.” He also violated the “Prevention and Control of Diseases (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Location Regulations) (Cap 599F). In addition, 7 men and 4 women (14 to 31 years old) in the unit were arrested for drinking in an unlicensed bar. They were also fined under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Cap 599G) (the Regulations).

During the operation, the police seized about 570 cans of beer and a batch of spirits worth about HK$9,000. The arrested men and women have been detained for investigation.
