Police uncover illegal weapon sales, arrest two in Hung Hom

5th September 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) has made significant strides in curbing illegal weapon sales, following the discovery of a suspected online trading operation dealing in dangerous items. On 4th September, authorities executed a raid on a residential unit in Hung Hom, leading to the seizure of multiple illegal weapons and materials.

During the operation, police recovered eight smoke grenades, 14 imitation firearms, a retractable baton, a pair of handcuffs, a large knife, and a forged police appointment certificate. Two individuals—a 39-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman—were arrested on charges including possession of imitation firearms, possession of dangerous goods, possession of offensive weapons, and possession of false documents. They remain in custody for further investigation.
