5th September 2024 – (Hong Kong) At around 10.35am today, police responded to reports of a serious traffic accident on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin Heights. The incident involved a Tesla electric vehicle and a motorcycle, resulting in significant injury to the motorcyclist, who was found lying on the ground, conscious but severely hurt.
The accident scene revealed a white Tesla that had veered off its lane, sustaining damage to its right front door, with the right-side mirror detached and the windscreen shattered. A blue motorcycle lay nearby, its parts scattered across the road as paramedics attended to the injured rider.
Emergency services immediately transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment, while the Tesla driver, who remained conscious, was also sent for medical evaluation. Authorities have arrested the driver on suspicion of dangerous driving, and the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
