24th August 2024 – (Taipei) Taiwanese pop icon Elva Hsiao has been compelled to defer her professional engagements until next year following a series of health challenges. In the past year alone, Hsiao has undergone three surgeries due to persistent health issues and is scheduled for a fourth, her management revealed.

The singer’s recent mishap, a fall in the bathroom, sparked considerable concern among her fans. However, her manager reassured the public, stating, “She is fine, it was just a minor fall. We appreciate everyone’s concern. The planned surgery for next month will still proceed, and her work commitments have already been rescheduled for next year.”

Hsiao, often hailed as a diva in the Mandarin pop scene, has faced numerous health-related hurdles over recent years. In 2021, she required surgical intervention after being bitten on the face by her pet dog and suffered injuries to her legs due to dance rehearsals, exacerbating previous conditions. Despite these setbacks, Hsiao made a celebrated appearance at the Golden Melody Awards two years ago, proclaiming “Elva is back.” Yet, health issues have since forced her to slow down.

At the end of last year, Hsiao released a new song, her first in several years, along with a heartfelt message: “Sorry it’s a few years late, but believe me, I’ve never stopped.”
