16th August 2024 – (San Francisco) Meta’s microblogging platform Threads has announced a suite of new features to celebrate the first anniversary of its web version launch, which took place in August 2023.

The updates aim to enhance user experience and provide more granular data insights. Key features include the ability to store up to 100 drafts, a new Insights screen, and column-rearrangement capabilities.

The Insights screen offers users a detailed breakdown of their audience demographics, including age, gender, and location. It also provides insights into post performance, showcasing total views and interactions, segmented by followers and non-followers.

The column-rearrangement feature allows users to customize the order of their searches, liked posts, activity, saved posts, profile, and Insights, providing a more personalized experience.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has also confirmed that a post-scheduling feature is in development and will be rolled out soon.

These updates come as Threads continues to gain traction, reaching 200 million monthly active users earlier this month, just over a year after its initial launch. While this figure falls short of its primary rival, X (formerly Twitter), which boasts over 600 million monthly users, Threads is steadily building its user base and expanding its feature set to compete in the microblogging space.
