14th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) A serious incident occurred on Lin Tak Road in Lam Tin at around 9.41am today, when an excavator rolled down from an embankment, crashing through barriers and landing on the front of a garbage truck. Reports indicate that three individuals sustained injuries but are reportedly in stable condition.
The incident took place at a construction site associated with the ongoing road widening project on Lin Tak Road, with eyewitnesses suggesting that a driver may be trapped in the wreckage. Rescue teams are currently on-site working to extricate the injured parties.
In response to the accident, the Transport Department has announced the closure of several lanes on Lin Tak Road in both directions near Hong Wah Court. Motorists are advised to use the remaining lanes, although traffic congestion is anticipated in the area as a result of the incident.
