Tickets for International Arts Carnival to be available for purchase starting tomorrow

9th Mat 2024 – (Hong Kong) The International Arts Carnival (IAC), presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), is set to captivate audiences once again this summer. Running from 5th July to 11th August, this highly anticipated event promises a diverse range of engaging and educational programs by both international and local art groups, catering to people of all ages. Prepare to embark on a journey of artistic exploration and secure your tickets, which go on sale starting tomorrow.

Hailing from various corners of the globe, talented artists from Italy, Sweden, Canada, Belgium, and Spain will join forces with their Mainland and local counterparts to deliver an enchanting selection of performances. Acrobatics, magic, dance, music, theatre, puppetry, and more will grace the stage, accompanied by a remarkable showcase of films from around the world as part of the “Summer Family Cine Fest” presented by the Film Programmes Office.

The 2024 edition of IAC boasts an impressive lineup of 14 stage programs, each offering a unique and captivating experience. Let us take a glimpse at some highlights from this year’s festival:

Opening Program: “Me and My Youth”
Prepare to be amazed as the China National Acrobatic Troupe, the largest and most prestigious group of its kind in Mainland China, kicks off the festival. Their performance, “Me and My Youth,” showcases a mesmerizing display of classic acts, including trick cycling, sway pole stunts, and plate spinning. This program also holds the honour of being part of the inaugural Chinese Culture Festival.
“Magic-go-round”
Local magician Louis Yan presents an extraordinary magic theatre production that weaves together famous fairy tales and never-before-seen magic tricks. Joining him as a guest artist is the renowned illusionist and former “America’s Got Talent” contestant, Hiroki Hara.
“+Erba – A Forest in the City”
Compagnia TPO from Italy invites you to immerse yourself in an interactive dance theatre production that merges art, playfulness, and learning. The stage transforms into a white cube, encouraging children to use their bodies as paintbrushes to create an ideal city. Every movement is brought to life through vivid projections, resulting in unique works of art.
“Fields of Tender”
Award-winning Swedish choreographer Dalija Acin Thelander, an expert in neurodiversity studies, presents a one-of-a-kind dance installation production. “Fields of Tender” invites infants aged three to 18 months, regardless of their abilities, to freely explore an imaginary space adorned with furry decorations. Dance, music, toys, and images blend harmoniously, creating an intimate and inclusive atmosphere.

And that’s not all! The IAC offers a myriad of other attractions, including “Animal Gacha,” where Rice Journey Production invites audiences to unravel the mysteries of animals through dance. Additionally, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will enchant audiences with their blacklight puppet theatre production of “The Rainbow Fish,” based on Marcus Pfister’s beloved picture book series.

Beyond stage performances, the IAC encompasses online programs, engaging parent-child workshops, and an enlightening exhibition. Collaborating with venue partners and libraries, the LCSD ensures an array of related activities and programs during the festival period.
