7th January 2025 – (Florida) Authorities have confirmed that two individuals were discovered deceased within the landing gear of a JetBlue aircraft following its arrival in South Florida. The unsettling find occurred during a routine post-flight maintenance check at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday night, as reported by the airline.
“While the identities of the deceased and the circumstances of their aircraft access are still being investigated,” stated an airline representative.
Upon receiving the distressing report around 11.30pm, local officials pronounced both individuals deceased at the airport. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) dispatched their Homicide and Crime Scene units to the scene to initiate an inquiry into the incident, which remains ongoing.
The flight had originated from New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and landed shortly after 11pm with no disruption to airport operations, according to sources.
Authorities from the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting investigations to ascertain the cause of death for the individuals. Meanwhile, the airport confirmed there were no operational disturbances due to the occurrence, redirecting inquiries to the airline.
