14th January 2025 – (Hong Kong) The MTR Corporation has announced delays on the Airport Express and Tung Chung Line following an incident involving an individual on the tracks between Tsing Yi Station and Sunny Bay Station.

At around 2.10pm, police were alerted to a woman walking near the tracks heading towards the airport. Emergency personnel were promptly dispatched to the scene to manage the situation.

As a result of the track incursion, trains on the Airport Express and Tung Chung lines are required to reduce speed while passing through the affected area. Commuters can expect additional travel times of approximately 20 to 25 minutes on both lines, specifically for services between Hong Kong Station and Expo Station on the Airport Express, and between Hong Kong Station and Tung Chung Station on the Tung Chung line.

Consequently, the cut-off time for city check-in services has been extended from 90 minutes to 180 minutes prior to flight departures, affecting passengers’ travel plans.
