Indian weddings are known for their grandeur—from regal attires to magnificent decorations and large gatherings of relatives celebrating the union of the newlyweds. They leave a lasting impression on both the newly married couple and the guests, who are immersed in the splendour of the joyous occasion.
The Bull, a wedding planning company established in 2005, brings this joyful vision to reality. They have organised weddings across India, tailoring their services to meet their clients’ specific interests and desires. With their expertise and vision, the team has taken the initiative to foster international relationships through wedding planning, culminating in the ‘Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit 2023’, an event that is the first of its kind in Nepal.
The Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit is a collaborative project aimed at showcasing Nepal as a prime destination for weddings. Priyanka Acharya Jalan, the secretary of the summit, states that the main objective of the event is to promote Nepal as an ideal wedding location through wedding tourism.
“As neighbouring countries, we believe that Nepal and India share significant relationships that can further flourish through wedding tourism. Nepal is a beautiful country, perfect for hosting grand and memorable weddings. We hope to enlighten Indian wedding planners about the incredible offerings Nepal has,” she says.
The event, happening on Friday and Saturday, will feature important discussions on wedding tourism. It will kick off with Maneesh Srivastava, the event curator and CEO of The Bull, giving the opening address. Dhananjay Regmi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), will then share welcoming remarks, followed by performances and a keynote address. Priyanka Acharya Jalan will highlight Nepal’s significance as a host for lavish Indian weddings. Later that night, NTB is hosting a gala dinner with delectable cuisines, providing an excellent networking opportunity for the attendees.
On the second day, attendees will visit Pashupatinath and Chandragiri Hills. During the trip to the scenic Chandragiri Hills, ‘Wedding Affair’, an Indian magazine covering various wedding aspects, from dresses to venues, will launch its Nepali version. Another panel discussion will also take place at Chandragiri.
The event will feature showcases from Indian and Nepali wedding planners, giving them a platform to display their designs. Jalan reveals that the Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit will be an annual occurrence henceforth.
“This event offers a chance to overcome geographical barriers and connect with people. Indian and Nepali wedding planners can exchange ideas, share their visions, and establish connections that may lead to significant future collaborations,” says Jalan.
